Phillips & Bathke, P.C.’s 2023 hourly rates will increase. The new rates will be applied as of January 1, 2023.

As part of its annual business review, the Firm reviewed numerous factors including costs incurred providing our services, inflation, and the rates of our competitors. Inflation in the past two years, year over year, has been 7.0% and 8.3%. Expectedly, costs of providing you with legal services have increased. The rate increases are necessary for the Firm to continue offering our services to you and remain competitive. The Firm’s 2023 rates will still be well below the average rates reported by the American Intellectual Property Law Association.

If you do not wish to pay the increased rates, we will assist you with transitioning your files to another firm or closing out your matters. Simply let us know. If that occurs and you have any increased rates on your receiving your January invoice, we will credit you for the incremental increase in rates before closing out or transitioning your file.

Please remember, all engagements are subject to the Firm’s standard engagement terms, which can be found here: https://www.pb-iplaw.com/standard-engagement-terms. And, for trademark matters, the supplemental terms can be found here: https://www.pb-iplaw.com/trademark-terms-addendum.

Finally, John and Jon thank you for allowing our team to help you with your legal issues. We appreciate the trust and confidence you place in us and believe we deliver superior advocacy, work product, and counseling at competitive rates in the industry. But what we truly appreciate is the opportunity to learn about you, your businesses, and your endeavors and the chance to become a key resource for you. We look forward to working with you in 2023.
