As an of counsel attorney, Jonathan maintains a close, regular, personal relationship with Phillips & Bathke, P.C. and assists its clients with copyright, trademark, patent, and litigation matters.

Jonathan has been practicing law since 2010 in both small firms and “Biglaw” settings. With experience in patent, antitrust, and white-collar fraud litigation, he has worked in high stakes matters and understands the importance of contested matters for his clients.

Jonathan is a licensed USPTO patent practitioner. He concentrates his practice on litigation and advising businesses and creative entrepreneurs on how to avoid legal pitfalls and expensive mistakes. He does so while finding the right amount of service for clients’ situations and allowing them to grow their businesses.

Like all attorneys at Phillips & Bathke, Jonathan assists with trademark and copyright registrations and enforcement matters. 

Background

Jonathan attended Alma College, earning a bachelors of science in biology. Thereafter he earned his juris doctor and certificate in intellectual property law from DePaul University College of Law. Jonathan lives in Chicago and enjoys walking his dogs through nearby parks and supporting the local comedy community.

Jonathan is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and volunteers time with Lawyers for the Creative Arts.
